Orchid and a rose
My white orchid is astonishing, it opened 7 flowers in total this time. The eighth bud has dried up and so it won't open, but I'm not complaining. You can't see them all here but they are there, just a couple are behind the others. Isn't it beautiful?
I was cutting some mandarinas this morning, actually stealing them from my exhusband but he doesn't mind, and there was a rose waiting to be cut and appreciated. It's a rosebush that I planted years ago and I prune it every now and then and then reap the benefit. These fruit trees and the rosebush are part of a big orchard of mandarinas, oranges, lemons and grapefruit and I can help myself. This year the fruit has been amazing and I am so lucky to have such a good source of fresh citrus fruit.
Anyway, I put the rose into a vase and the oxygen bubbles are just beautiful, they sit on the stem of the rose in the water and stay there as long as you don't move it. A marvel of nature.
It's raining at the moment, totally unexpected but lovely, everything refreshed and emitting a beautiful earthy smell. A short downpour, some thunder in the distance, and it's all over, but it's life giving.
