I was just walking around my garden, taking in the peace and calm of the plants and trees, and thinking how lucky I am, when I found a dead butterfly on the grass. I know nothing about the lives or about why and how butterflies live and die, but there it was, lying there... and I don't even know what sort of butterfly it is. So I picked it up and took photos of it, as a celebration of its beauty and its short life, and how we can all learn from the beauty of nature. It really doesn't matter if we know its species or its life span, all we need to do is appreciate it in the cycle of life and hope that its short life was good.
Here is the butterfly, in all its glory, with the light playing games with our sight and almost giving flight back to the butterfly.
